| quoted from sir 7th cavalry: Im just wondering how an airsofter reacts upon first contact with the enemy during the game. Most players tend to shoot first then assess...but some veteran players and team leaders normally assess first.I think there is a saying "No plan survive upon the first contact?" is it true? And what would be your normal reaction? | |

For Milsim, I think the player must assess first, that is if he has not been hit yet (or else what good is the plan ). I remember my very 1st airsoft jungle game: We were defending. I was so excited. When the first guy from the enemy patrol came into view I hit him full auto. Before I could celebrate my kill, a long shower of bbs hit me from my right side. I learned my lesson to let the point man or recon team pass if you want a successful ambush. Let the other defenders in the rear take care of the enemy's forward element. Even in ambushes, you have to be able to tell where the threat is coming from before you can react properly. That is what this armchair tactician thinks Cheers | |
